Jade
Jade is an auditioned advanced mixed chamber choir comprised of students in grades 9-12 who wish to further develop their voice and musical expressivity at an advanced level, performing a wide variety of choral chamber music, including but not limited to jazz, popular, renaissance, and modern literature. These students have advanced experience reading, analyzing, and performing advanced music while regularly demonstrating a commitment to individual and collaborative work outside of class in sectionals and personal practice. Jade has become one of the top vocal jazz choirs in the state, qualifying for ISSMA State finals every year since the competition’s beginning (2016), also earned awards for outstanding alto section (2018) and outstanding bass section (2019, 2018), outstanding tenor section (2023, 2022), and solo awards. In 2023, Jade performed at ISSMA Concert Choir State Qualification for the first time in school history and earned Gold Performance and Gold Sight Reading Ratings. Jade routinely performs for community events, festivals, and competitions.
Rhapsody
Rhapsody is an auditioned advanced mixed choir comprised of students in grades 9-12 who wish to further develop their voice and musical expressivity at an advanced level, performing a wide variety of choral literature. These students have advanced experience reading, analyzing, and performing advanced music while regularly demonstrating a commitment to individual and collaborative work outside of class in sectionals and personal practice. In 2022 and 2018, Rhapsody qualified for ISSMA Concert State Finals for the first time since 1989. Rhapsody consistently earns Gold ratings with distinction at ISSMA Organizational events and also performs at festivals and other competitions.
Revery
Revery is an auditioned intermediate mixed choir comprised of students in grades 9-12 who wish to further develop their voice and musical expressivity at an intermediate level, performing a wide variety of choral literature. These students have intermediate experience reading, analyzing, and performing advanced music while regularly demonstrating a commitment to individual and collaborative work outside of class in sectionals and personal practice. In 2018, Revery qualified for ISSMA Concert State Finals for the first time in school history and earned 6th place. Revery consistently earns Gold ratings with distinction at ISSMA Organizational events and also performs at festivals and other competitions.
Woodmen Singers
Chorale is a non-auditioned beginning tenor/bass choir comprised of students in grades 9-12 who wish to develop their voice and musical expressivity at a beginner level, performing a wide variety of choral literature. These students have little to some experience reading, analyzing, and performing music of beginner difficulty while regularly demonstrating a commitment to individual and collaborative work outside of class in sectionals and personal practice. Woodmen Singers consistently earns Gold ratings with distinction at ISSMA Organizational Contest.
